Daily Art Prompts Week 3

Here is week 3 of daily art prompts with Art Prompts Galore. Our host Shannon Freer has such an imagination, she churns out prompts for all sorts of series.  I also do a weekly Post Card swap with the group.  It is such fun.

Week 3
15 Basket.
Just some acrylic paint, an image from a napkin and some punched out flowers.

16 Window.
This was inspired by a window in my childhood home.

17 Book
Background from excess paint, magazine image and quote.
If you have a garden and a library
you have everything you need.

18 Float
Stencilled background, some stamping and napkin collage.

19 Blue.

20 Creature.
Collage with torn paper, sponged sky, stencil tree,
tissue butterfly and magazine image for my little creature.

Daily Art Prompts Week 2

Another week of fun prompts completed.  I am following along with Shannon Freer at Art Prompts Galore.  This group has lots of swaps with lots of imaginative hosts.

8  Hip to Be Square.
Stencilled letters, freehand B and then doodles.

9 Dots
Stencils and punched shapes.

10 Trees
I did the trees with a sea sponge and acrylic paint.

11 Hanging.
This was a challenge.  I had no idea what to do so I made a hanging.  Took some fabric and frayed it a bit,  Stuck it to a paddle pop stick and added a cord to hang it from the star.

12 Vintage
Stencilled background with yellow ochre and found some vintage advertisements.

13 Balloons
I got out the watercolours for this background.  I die cut my balloons from pretty envelopes  I receive.

14 Red
I tried to use my gelli plate to do a background but the paint was drying to quick because of the heat.  Found a Marimekko ad and cut and pasted.

So that's it for week 2.  Hope I will be back again next week.

New Year, New Post.

I am certainly not a very consistent blogger.  I am also not good at continuing daily challenges, but here I go again.  I do like arting to prompts and this group is one I enjoy very much. The group is called Art Prompt Galore and I do postcard swaps weekly and I am beginning to do the Daily Art Prompts for 2019.

Cut out silhouette, added hula hoops.

4 Stars
Moulding paste through stencil on blue sky, the collaged silver stars shapes.

Looks like my total this time for #diypostcardswap for May 2018 will only be 8/10 although I was lucky enough to receive a bonus from a special friend.  Hi Tammy :)  I was not on her list.

So here are the cards I received this time around.  I have done this swap twice a year for several years now.

#1 From Judy Hazlett, Townville PA

#2 From Debbie, California.

#3 from Annika  a delicious collage

#4 from Kelli, Nevada City, CA

#5 from Quinn in Pheonix Arizona

#6 from Rachel in Waco Texas

#7 from Sarah in Slovenia.  A peacock's tail.

#8 from Katie Burke.  Another lovely collage.

#Bonus for the lovely Tammy Ham.  We have been friends for a long time and she does wonderful work.  This set was assisted by her dear Mother.  Thank you both.

And so that's a wrap from the 2018 iHanna Spring Swap.

iHanna Post Card Swap.

Twice a year this large international post card swap is hosted by Hanna http://www.ihanna.nu/postcard-swap/ The swap call for 10 hand made postcards to be made and ready to send when you receive your 10 addresses.   You sign up, pay a small admin fee, make your cards and wait for your addresses.  There is a date set for when you are required to finish your mail outs.

I have done this twice a year for a number of years now and I really enjoy receiving little pieces of art from around the globe.

Hanna has an Instagram page for displaying the cards under the hashtag #diypostcardswap but as I don't have an IG account I just post mine to my FB page with the hashtag.

So this round is done and dusted and I am just waiting to get my addresses, anytime after tomorrow and then wait expectantly for the beautiful artwork to arrive in my letterbox.

These are my cards for this round.  Some are duplicated.
